It's my party and I'll cry if I want to

I know, I know, I am supposed to tell you all Happy Thanksgiving and list all the things that I am thankful for, right?

Instead, you get this:

Happy Birthday to me.
Happy Birthday to me.
Happy Birthday dear, awesome, wonderful, spectactular, Lyndsay.
Happy Birthday to me.

I’ve already had a not so great start to my birthday, so I am going to add this clause: Dearest family, I hate pumpkin pie. If you try to pass off pumpkin pie as my birthday cake again this year, consider us estranged. It didn’t fly in 1996 and it’s not going to fly this year either.

Oh, and now that I’ve made my birth date public, you can just erase it from your minds, as it is the last one I plan on celebrating. Birthdays end at 29, right?

Birthdays just start getting good at 30.

Sharing your birthday with family on Thanksgiving will soon be replaced with Girls' Nights Out. Definitely no pumpkin pie. And perhaps no cake. But who needs cake?!

Lots of laughing and talking about anything and/or nothing is exactly what every awesome, wonderful, spectacular (you forgot beautiful, independent, intelligent, and absolutely amazing) woman deserves on her birthday.

Make sure you put it on your calendar next year! : )

Happy Birthday!
Pumpkin pie is SO not birthday cake.
Beer, though. Beer can sometimes be birthday cake.

I hope you get whatever you want on your birthday. :-)

Lia - Ack! Totally renting a lens!

Kara - Thanks!

xmsamx - Thanks and welcome to the anti-pumpkin sisterhood!

Elle - Thanks for your kind words. I can handle that kind of a birthday for next year - is it wrong to start planning tomorrow?

Pearl - Beer can be birthday cake? What? Where have you been all my life? Who is holding the Stella, I'll take one now please!
