Humor me

You didn’t think I could totally stay away, did you? I just finished my third study book (half-way point) and thought I’d reward myself with a quick blogging break. I didn’t realize how much I would miss your witty comments, clandestine jokes, and funny commentaries – but I do.

I recognize that you haven’t each been with me since the start of time ... also known as the measly five months I’ve been blogging. So, during this hiatus, I am going to pilfer a little technique from my friend Beth and link you up with some of my favorite posts from the past few months. I can still stay connected and I don’t have to do much work. Brilliant!

Besides, I’d prefer to read about summer sun and playgrounds and ignore the fact that it was five months and seventy-degrees ago. Some people might classify that as an inability to face reality. I just call it a coping mechanism with a dash of optimism.

We've Become THOSE people - Take Two

Enjoy!

I liked your stories. If you want summer though, instead of memories you should come to Australia. today it was 34 where i was and last week it was 42 degrees. apparently it was 56 degrees on my friends garage roof (and yes, he climbed up there with a heat reader thingy to check)

happy studying. for my school certificate i didn't study at all. winged the entire thing, got band 5's except for maths where i got a band 3.on second thoughts, it's better to study!

Okay, I can't really come up with a witty comment on demand, so I'm going to copy a joke from the February Reader's Digest I've been reading. (I know, I have incredibly exciting magazine reading habits.)

From the "Laugh!:)" joke column:
"Just before a boy enters the barbershop, the barber tells his customer, 'This is the dumbest kid in the world. Watch.' The barber puts a dollar in one open palm and two quarters in the other and asks the kid, 'Which do you want?' The boy takes the quarters and leaves.

"'See?' says the barber, laughing.

"Later, the customer passes the boy, who is standing outside a candy store. 'Why'd you take the quarters and not the dollar?' he asks.

'"Because,' says the boy, 'the day I take the dollar, the game's over.'"

I should have replaced "the boy" with "Kate" since I think this is the road her intelligent little brain would take.
