Does anyone have a Delorean handy?

I am in the midst of a major conundrum. This week is the last week of class for the two Master’s classes I am currently taking. Briefly yesterday I thought to check the official academic calendar. Imagine my surprise when I realized that this week technically ends Friday, not Sunday. People, Saturday and Sunday are the only days I have time for school.

School is important to me, but it ranks behind quite a few other monkeys on my back. Namely the one (sometimes two) other lives in my house that are overly dependent upon me. Then, there is this thing called work, complete with a boss who expects to see me at least 40 hours per week. Since that job pays my bills, it does not come with a lot of reprioritization.

(Insert panic attack here)

By midnight on Friday, I have to write a 15 page research paper, complete study questions for 9 chapters, take a final exam, complete a PowerPoint presentation, and some other random odds and ends lingering from these two classes.

(I’ve never had a panic attack before, but for some reason it feels like the situation warrants it. Let’s insert another one here.)

There are very few solutions that I can come up with to salvage the 4.0 GPA that I currently hold. On second thought, I know that globalization and outsourcing are the current rage. Do you think that there is some geek in Dubai that I could outsource my homework to?

Don’t look at me like that; I don’t see you coming up with any more reasonable solutions.

If you're serious, I know people... Just kidding. (unless you're really serious)

Good luck! I have a feeling you'll find a way. And then you'll have Saturday and Sunday to recover!

I'd have a panic attack or two myself.

OMG...I'm sorry if I'm laughing...not at your plight..but the globalization of homework...god I wish they had that ...I would have paid good money in college for that.....you can do it...and congrats on being saucy....

Hang in there!!! I am trying to talk myself into going back to school for my Masters as well. Bless your heart! Hope all goes well - at least you are saucy this week!!!

Heck I think I'd have a panic attack or two...maybe 30.

Wishing you the best of luck....your saucy-self will prevail!

Battle one thing at a time! In small chunks, it can be managed. It's much easier to say that with a straight face when I'm not the one facing the firing squad! ;)

Nervous breakdowns are allowed!! I have one almost daily. Save the drinks for the weekend, but in the meantime munch on cookies and take deep, deep breaths...after swallowing the cookies of course!

Good luck!!

Call Me Cate - DON'T TEMPT ME.

Noah's Mommy - Laugh, laugh away :)

Becky - Thanks for stopping by.

Michelle - I appreciate the panic attack endorsement :)

Simplicity - Save the drinking for the weekend? Maybe THAT's the problem, LOL!

Wait ... shouldn't I be doing HOMEWORK right now?

Simplicity is right...one thing at a time.

I was thinking today about that old joke--How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.

Good luck!

(And if it helps, I'd be stressed out of my mind too.) :)

I think it is time for a sick day or two from work..isn't there some kind of stomach virus going around that you feel?

I say outsource the peeps that follow you and by Thursday we should be done....see....problem solved :)

What? Not a good idea!? Really?! Okay, give me a paper bag, I can't breathe.

I'm exhausted just reading about everything you have to do!

Congrats on your Saucy Blog!

First congrats for being a saucy blog. Its a great thing.

Mmm know what you mean about juggling the study. I was doing a Masters and used to do my assignments the weekend before they were due including all the reading. What a brain wave -outsource the work to India - I am with you on this one. Genius idea!!! How smart are you.

TAKE A DEEP BREATH, FIND YOUR HAPPY PLACE (BUT DON'T STAY TOO LONG, YOU DON'T HAVE TIME!), AND KICK SOME POWER-POINT BUTT! GOOD LUCK TO YOU--CHRISTMAS WILL BE EXTRA SWEET THIS YEAR!

s-t-r-e-t-c-h the truth a little......Happy Saucy SITs week!

YOU CAN DO IT! It will get done, somehow! You aren't making me feel any better about starting my Masters in Jaunary! :)

I've got one word for you: Cliff Notes. Ok, it's two words but you know what I mean. You have such a full plate but it sounds like you are able to thrive in that situation. Or at least perform admirably or at least survive...anyway, I don't think the Deloreans of today will do the same thing for you that the one did for Marty McFly. And yes, your blog is certainly Saucy!

Beth - That is typically my mantra, but this is one darn big elephant!

Jenners - Typically that would SO be the answer. Unfortunately it's so not THAT kind of week at work for me. People get kind of testy about not getting their health insurance taken care of and stuff, LOL!

Rambler - You might be on to something. We could consider it paybacks for the entertainment I provide, right? Um, or not?

Angie - Yeah, me too :)

Lilly's Life - It is exhausting! I think I might have to start a homework outsourcing business. I see great potential!

Lori - Where is this happy place of which you speak? :)

Hula - Thanks for stopping by.

momto1 - What is that saying, a little white lie never hurt?

Jodi - No, you are way more organized than I am. You wouldn't let it get this bad, LOL!

Preston - I normally to thrive under pressure ... but, well, this time, I think I got it too deep. Quit squishing my Delorean dream, it's the only thing I got man! :)

I agree with Jenners. Sounds like a sick day coming on. Anxiety is a medical condition, you know. :) Good luck! I'm sure you can do it.

I love the outsourcing idea!

I thought it was hard working full-time and going to school...and that was before I had kids. I get overwhelmed just thinking about doing all that now! No wonder you're stressed. Do you have any family that can take Kate for you a few hours in the evening? It sounds like one of those weeks where you only do the absolutely essential things - no cleaning, no cooking (other than heating up pre-made meals). Good luck. Before you know it, it'll be next week and you'll have a lot of the stress off your shoulders.

Sounds like a lot on your plate. hope it all calms down soon. Saw you on SITS.

Congrats on being saucy!!

I remember late nights for school....I mean, all-nighters!

Whoa! I wish you all the luck. Your supersize post cracked me up.

Congrats on you blog being Saucy!

Isn't it nice juggling everything life throws at you?

For this semester, I took 17 hours, had two jobs, and was newly married to top it all off (I DRASTICALLY underestimated the time needed to compensate for emotional needs in a marriage).

Just letting you know there's some people out there that share your plight.

P.S. GPAs are overrated anyways. Dropping from a 4.0 isn't going to hurt your career status at all. However, that sting to pride does kinda hurt a little ...

I think your blog is so cute! I just stumbled across it and think it's great! Keep it up :-) You write similarily to me, you should check it out! It's in the process of being remodeled so no judging allowed on the current header/creativity ;-)

I am -very- good at research and writing papers. I'll do it for you! I feel like I owe you something for all the enjoyment I get from your blog so, it'd be a thank-you gift!

Yellow Beads said...

Oh good luck, I'm sure you'll do fine!

Grand Pooba said...

Well look at it this way. Even if you lose your 4.0 because of this, you'll still get an A+ in the bloggy world. That's all that matters right?
