On the cover of the Rolling Stone

One night last week, Kate took a particular interest in this Elmo guitar that she’s had forever and barely glanced at. Craig was insistent upon showing her how to hold it the right way when she was playing. I mean, the kid has to have form when playing with her toys, right? Anyway, she kept playing this creepy rendition of the Sesame Street theme song that appeared to have been recorded by Jimi Hendrix after a lot of drugs. Elmostock 2008, tickets are going fast. After a few minutes, she looked Craig and I in the face with the most intent expression and said, “I need a stage so I can ROCK.”

The most common phrase in our house right now is, “I have no idea where she came from.”

Really, she does rock! What a great kid.

I need to get Chickie a guitar; currently she uses kitchen utensils as guitars (spatulas, large spoons, pasta servers....)

Hysterical! I'll watch Ticketmaster for the ticket sales!

I came across your blog and couldn't resist. I have an almost 2 yr old and a 3 yr old. Both LOVE music and find instruments in everything they pick up. Kenny (3yrs) decided that the nose snot sucker thingie (those torturous devices) was a microphone and ran around the house singing a strange almost Bob Dillon type rendition of the ABC's. My daughter(2yrs) danced the whole time!

Hmm...Was Craig like this when he was a little one? Where does she get this stuff?

Ha ha! That's great. Sounds like she'd get along with my kiddo--her favorite band is AC/DC.

(Except we know exactly where she gets it from.)
